MANY THOUGHTS! I got to get out of that stuffy, dirty, smelly pocket and meet Fyrne’s family. No siblings, two parents, one Alchemilla and one U’Firdun.
U’firdun has it. The ability to use magic. I have noticed the differences across the different compositions of humans— it is clear which souls are primed to use magic and those that are not. For example, many of the people on the vessel across the Great Blue seemed to have the ability to use magic, based on their aether. Some bragged of their studies in “So Man-ottics,” which I suspect is what they call that art! I asked him about it, and he gave me the most bewildered look. It seems he is unfamiliar with it… He must be naturally gifted, then, to have such a composition primed for magic.
Alchemilla was like Fyrne! From my reading in the Forbidden Archives, she is made of “dynamis” much like he and I. I asked her about her family and her structure, what made her different, and she seemed just as bewildered as U’Firdun. Am I not speaking Common?!? Does nobody truly know anything?!?!
After some pointed questions, I did manage a bit of leeway with her… she spoke of how, in her family, they were very good at understanding the feelings of others around her without them saying a single thing. Especially those related to them. Babies would cry and they would know the difference between hunger, discomfort, and tiredness. This is something we understand, and I relayed as much to her. I have concurred that she and Fyrne are both creatures of dynamis, just like us Shaded fairies!
She did not understand. Fyrne told me to not bother them too much, and politely asked me to let them have a minute.
I decided to draw his family members while they were distracted by conversation, and what their structure is like. I will give my findings to the colony when I return.
